For all of the Sprint users who love their "Push To Talk" but really want a fancy new Blackberry, it looks like you'll be able to annoy the hell out of everyone by the end of 2008.

I just got word from both of my reliable sources from both camps that RIM and Sprint are piecing together a QWERTY Blackberry to run on Sprint/Nextel's iDEN network and it will be ready by the Q4 2008.

This is really good news for the rapidly falling wireless carrier suffering from a lack of really interesting phones. So if you're thing is typing away while you Push To Talk then you might want to hold on before you jump ship. Your ship is on it's way.

This is interesting news. You would think these idiots at Sprint would have given this some attention before allowing all the IDEN Blackberry users leave in favor of a good device. They have been forced to use the old 7520 model due to an ongoing lack of vision by management. If they launch this new product it will probably be outdated by the time it hits the street. Not to mention that there may not be any IDEN customer left due to the Sprint merger debacle. Once again – The boat has sailed without a clue!

So, Josh, you have *data* on the Qchat rollout? Since they still seemed to be advertising for a QChat Network Design Architect on their job board in Sep 07, I can’t imagine they’re even planned yet, much less rolling out…
