Valkilmerwillarnettknightrider So in the new KNIGHT RIDER show that never should have been remade, the voice of KITT was going to be played by WILL ARNETT from Arrested Development. Now, VAL KILMER will step in to replace him.

Unfortunately, Arnett had to pull out due to an automotive company conflict. For years, Arnett did voice work for General Motors. And since KITT is now a Ford Mustang, well GM big wigs didn’t like that one bit.

Arnett had this to say:

“I was very excited at the prospect of playing the part of KITT in the new Knight Rider movie. However, because of a long relationship with General Motors as the voice of GMC Trucks, I had to respectfully withdraw from the project.”

Arnett is speaking in code. What he really said was this:

“Yeah, I know this rehash of a show is totally stupid, but hey it’s steady work and a good paycheck. And since my last two movies bombed, Hot Rod and Brothers Solomon, I could use the boost. Besides, I’m used to doing voice work for cars, being doing it for GM for many, many “looking over my shoulder” years now. But the damn GM head honchos went and got smart and found out that KITT is a Ford and well we all know they’re jealous of Ford. So they point blank told me to drop the project or they’re going to drop me… in the East River! See ya’ KITT, ya’ bitch ass!”
