Marilynmonroeoversizedpostcard There is a part of this whole story that is painful.  Sure, it’s common knowledge that Marilyn Monroe liked the guys.  It’s also common knowledge that that was pretty much the reason she left the planet.  She was clueless on how to manage her love life.  But most of us are so put that aside.

Marilyn Monroe is a part of American folklore.  And like most held up to study for too long, unflattering information will be discovered within the brush strokes.

15 minutes of a 16mm film showing Monroe performing oral sex on an unnamed man had been FBI classified and under wraps.   Like our parents, we all knew she had sex and a good many of us could imagine ourselves as being the recipient of her affection.  But fantasy is always best that way and no one wants to see their parents have sex, so Marilyn Monroe has always been in that “Safe” spot.  She has always been until now that now all to rare individual that can turn a pre-teen into a man while fully clothed on a 32 inch television screen, doing and saying absolutely nothing that is overtly sexual.

But all good things come to an end, and particularly when it comes to the innocence.   This is information that we didn’t need,  FBI classification that could have remained that way.  But the all mighty dollar and the reporting of those who can spend millions of it for sex will always destroy a dream in a society obsessed with the carnal.

Even though the New York millionaire who purchased the film swears he will keep it under wraps, we still know it’s out there.   From this point on she will take on a slightly different persona.   Staring into her beautiful pain will no longer solely conjure up our compassionate loss and sexual innocence.   That soft spot within us has been hardened by many like Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton and the countless men with uncontrollable lust, a camera and a trusting and sometimes lost soul in the view finder.

But really, even though it exist, this one could have remained a fantasy and not a reality.
