Yesterday while reading a post on a site dedicated to gadgets, I saw something quite comical.  Commentors were very upset with the author because they felt as though the author and the site was giving unequal time to Apple.  Then someone wrote about the failings of Microsoft, which prompted a response about the pomposity of Apple, and it just went downhill from there.  Suddenly I though I was on CNN's political page, it was really funny to me.

I've always found it silly that anyone would get vehemently behind a product or company to the point of name calling and the like.  But it happens, and quite often.  I've been ranted on more than enough times, haters of the iPhone seem to spend an awful lot of time going around the net spreading their lonely, sad, pathetic anger.

In this hotly contested political season I suddenly see a parallel.  Folks are arguing over Apple and Microsoft the way Sean Hannity (Slant Head) argues with himself over conservative and liberal.

So this raises an interesting question.  Which is which?  Is Apple "Republican" and Microsoft "Democrat?"  Or Is Microsoft "Republican" and Apple "Democrat?"

And to the like, who would you vote for as president in a campaign between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates?  Yes, it should be Steve Ballmer, but that makes it too much like Obama vs McCain.  Besides, Bill Gates will always be the face and spirit behind Microsoft.  Which of these two companies and the leaders has the big Mo, and which would lead the country back onto the right track the right way?

Who Would Make A Better President?
