First off, I'm embarrassed I even watched "WELCOME HOME ROSCOE JENKINS". But hey, I watch everything, so there you go. Second off, what the hell happened to MARTIN LAWRENCE? He used to be funny and entertaining. Remember Boomerang and Bad Boys, hell, even Nothing to Lose was good. Now all he does are these stupid family comedies that are nowhere near funny or good. And it all started with Big Momma's House when he wanted to be like Eddie Murphy. And we all see how Eddie's career is turning out. Well Martin, you're on your way to movie death.

How many times can movies like this be made and never get any better? And throwing in a box office draw, or should I say former box office draw like Lawrence doesn't mean it's going to be gold. This movie missed on everything a film like this is supposed to have in order for it to be a family comedy with heart. The story was weak with no creativity. It was a typical formulated B-script at best without the comedy. The characters were over-the-top and annoying as hell, CEDRIC the ENTERTAINER and MO'NIQUE's to name a few. And how did the awesome JAMES EARL JONES get swindled into his part! I hope he got something real good for that.

Lawrence was so not funny, no matter how hard he tried to be with his improvisations, cause the script was just lame to begin with. The ONLY good thing about this film, or I should say in this film, is the lovely JOY BRYANT. Having her walk around in her work out clothes for 90 minutes would of been more entertaining than this film. Oh, and let's not forget MIKE EPPS. Although still kind of annoying, he did have some good moments and was one of the few tolerable characters. The movie tries to bring out a message about family and roots and how where you're from shapes your life, but you kind of lose it or just don't care about it cause your too angry about how this movie just wasted your time.

But seriously, what the hell happened to Martin Lawrence? These family comedies he's doing suck! He needs to go back to his roots of rude and crude comedy and violence like BAD BOYS. That's where his audience loves him. And his new film that's coming to video in July, COLLEGE ROAD TRIP with Raven-Symone, is where his audience hates him!

WELCOME HOME ROSCOE JENKINS is purely a waste of time and doesn't deserve the $5.00 it cost to rent the damn thing. Take that money and go buy yourself a Veggie sub at Subway. At least then you know you're getting something good for your money and it doesn't take 90 minutes to get through it!
