Google trends is a good way to kill a few minutes of downtime.  Have you ever wanted to know who many times “WKRP In Cincinnati” has been searched?  With your Google account you can go to Trends and find out.  But Google has added a few new twist to Trends.  Now when you look up the Trend for WKRP, you can also looked up who was hotter, Bailey or Jennifer?  

After you’ve done your separate search, you can combine them.  This chart show ice cream, I’ll substitute for my question.  Bailey is vanilla ice cream and Jennifer is chocolate ice cream.  With the separate color charts combined we can see that Bailey is clearly the favorite, even in those months that the search term spiked.

Google trends does have practical uses.  Could come in very handy if you run a small business doing retail, the combined charts could go a long way in a short amount of time to helping serve your customers exactly what they’re looking for.
