Tina Watson’s lifeless body can be seen on the ocean floor of her honey moon scuba vacation in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.
US cops have been helping the Queensland Australian Police since the 2003 incident, trying to piece together what occurred leading up to her drowning death and not surprisingly all fingers are pointing to her husband David Gabriel Watson.
A mere 11 days after their marriage and the blushing bride is dead. I’d say that raises a pretty big red flag.
None of David Watson’s stories are adding up said Sergeant Brad Flynn of Alabama's Helene Police Department, USA, and now Watson, a US citizen, faces extradition to Australia to stand trial for murder.
Watson told police that he tried to save his new wife but that she was too heavy to carry to the surface…… although a drive team member, a stranger, was able to do just that once they realized something was wrong.
"Everyone under water is, in fact, weightless," Sgt Flynn stated.
David an experienced diver, who had himself, completed a dive rescue course amongst other certifications, left his novice wife to sink. Why? He can’t seem to make up his mind. First he said that the current pulled her away, then that his ears suddenly hurt and he couldn’t dive deeper, or maybe it was that she sunk to quickly…….. so instead he "rocketed to the top" to raise the alarm, but a witness said his rise to the surface was "pedestrian and controlled."
An autopsy found no pre-existing medical condition that could have explained Tina Watson's death and tests showed there was nothing wrong with her diving gear.
So what really happened? Authorities believe that this calculating worm of a man turned off his wife’s air supply seconds after the dive begun, watched her drown, and then switched it back on before he let her body sink beneath him……
In a taped interview with police directly after the incident, Watson described how his wife apparently had trouble a few minutes into the dive, panicked and clutched at his mask, pushing it off his face. He saw her, her eyes wide and arms outstretched toward him, sinking into the deep……. His words ……
Rumor has it that David increased his wife’s life insurance policy just before her death, but all in all the Australian police are keeping quite about what evidence they have.
This will be a tough case to convict.
My opinion: Shame Australia doesn’t have the death penalty …….
