Jimmy Fallon is about as funny as a bout with pink eye, but It isn't hard to hear the backroom meetings that led to him as the choice to take over "Late Night" when Conan O'Brian takes the helm of the Tonight show.  "We want a cross between Cobert and Stewart, but not them because John Stewart is too Jewish and Cobert is too crazy.  I got it, how about Jimmy Fallon, he's not doing anything, he's not offensive??!!  I'm glad I don't watch network TV.

However, Fallon will be bringing his unfunny to the web to test out his chops before he goes live.  This fall, 50 to 10 minute webisodes will run on the air, giving what Lorne Michaels says is a chance "to work out as many of the rough spots in his presentation as possible in performances on a website."
