In Sydney Australia, a lost humpback whale calf has bonded with a 36 foot yacht. It seems to think it is it's mother, ahh. The 1 to 2 month old calf has begun to suckle with the boat. Rescuers say the calf's condition has deteriorated and it needed to find a pod or it's mother so it could feed. They have moved the boat away from the harbor in hopes that the whale will go back out to sea to search for a pod or it's mother. The annual whale migration season is underway off Australia's coast and several have been spotted off Sydney beaches in recent days. Humpbacks breed every one to three years, with a gestation period lasting up to 12 months. And I thought we had it bad at 9 months. The outlook is not good for this baby.
