Aah Belkin, you've served us well on oh so many gadgets for the iPod and so many other devices, but this, this I will have to stay away from.  Not that the idea isn't nice, a 1/4-inch cable connector that snaps lose like Apple's mag-connector.  If to much pressure is applied to one end, the cable will free snap off.  Nice....in theory.

No serious musician is going to want to add something magnetic to their Guitar or Bass, sound changer #1.  An extra connector means the vibration has to travel further and it must do so through a magnetic device, sound changer #2.  No seasoned player who has spent years building their sound is going to want to have it altered.  All the digital conversion is bad enough, now a magnet?  Don't think so.

Plus, and this is very important.  If you can't keep your chord in your axe while playing, if you haven't learned that very basic necessity, then you may want to re-think where you're going with the whole playing music live thing.

But hey, maybe you want to give this a try.  It will be available for $19.99 this September.
