When it came to third party applications, it used to be that Palm was the leader of the pack.  When the iPhone made it’s debut in 07, the biggest rub against it was the lack of third party applications and games.  Palm had a wealth of applications, games and developers continually working on new and exciting Software for the PalmOS.  But is that still true?

As I do my daily search to bring readers good new and updated Software titles for every mobile platform, I’m noticing that new Palm titles are slowing to a halt and new iPhone titles are overflowing.  There were about 40 new games listed for the iPhone yesterday alone.

Productivity apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch are really coming on strong.  Task managers, Calendars, Calculators, photo suites on and on.  The once booming and thriving Palm dev world seems to have shifted and heavily over to the iPhone Dev world, with others developing for the soon to be released G1 (Android).

Where is that leaving you, the Palm faithful?  Is it making the iPhone or G1 that much more enticing?  Buttering the preverbal bread to make it sweet enough to try out the iPhone?
