Tina Fey has single handily brought Saturday Night Live back to life with her impersonations of Sarah Palin.  The "30 Rock" star has let it be known how she feels about portraying her and her extreme desire to not have to play her for the next four years.  Even going as far as to say that she will leave the planet.

But there is a scheduled appearance on "SNL" of the VP candidate (which has heads scratching) on October 25th, but Tina Fey says that she is unsure as to when she will be back on the show.

Over coffee Tuesday during a rare morning off from her NBC sitcom, "30 Rock," Fey noted that "SNL" will be on live this Saturday, as well as airing a 9:30 p.m. EDT Thursday edition, but as to whether she will take part in either broadcast, "I haven't heard." (A spokesman for the NBC late-night comedy show echoed her comments.)

The former "SNL" cast member/head writer thus far has been drafted for three appearances as Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The sketches were a huge hit for the show and Fey alike.

I can imagine that the SNL crew and in particular Tina Fey, were not too happy with Lorne Michaels choice to put Palin on the show so close to the election, so I wonder if there's a bit of internal struggle going on there.
