I've heard a peep that there is talk in the halls of Government that the days of Blackberry domination may soon be over for a few days now. Now TUAW hears that some in Congress are actually requesting iPhones. Could we see a shift in how business gets done in Washington? One of my sources sites the iPhone 3G as a much improved device, capable of handling push email and network integration with "Mobileme" much in the same way the tried and true Blackberry provides for government employees. However, the entire Blackberry Enterprise server would need to be yanked, and an entirely new one put in for the iPhone. Guess you would be paying for that.
A much less believable source paints a picture of patriotism, Blackberry being a Canadian company and Apple being American. The folks in the halls of justice finally feel like they have a device that can compete with RIM's offering. But hey, that's actually silly enough to believe come to think of it.
Whatever the case may be, we can expect to hear about Government agencies swapping out Blackberry for iPhones soon. Ahh the politics of mobile.
