If you're one of those who have been avoiding the whole Vista thing but want another PC, you have options.  And a few months ago Microsoft realized that there were enough of you out there that didn't want their new OS, so if they were going to continue to clock revenue, they'd better allow you to use XP.  But they put a timeline on that XP availability.

January 31st 2009 was the cut off date for access to XP licenses, or downloading your Vista back to Windows XP.  Thanks to a internal leak, a email was discovered that points to an extension of that deadline to July 31st, 2009.  A full six months longer.  This means you can truly skip Vista altogether if this holds up to be fact, and move right on into Windows 7.
