Okay, I don't want to be the guy that rains on everyones party but.... I know there are plenty of Palm fans who have been watching what's going on in the burgeoning smartphone market. The heavy array of phones coming from RIM, HTC, Google, Nokia and the ever present heavy hitting iPhone, leaves the Palm fan to wonder "what gives?" Releasing Windows Mobile running treo Pro's and Treo800w's is nice and all, but Palm fans want Palm phones, otherwise they'll just get an HTC Touch Diamond.
Sure they say they're coming, but the date keeps getting pushed back further and further, and there is no glimmer of hope in the sign of a leaked image or dev SDK or market survey or anything that shows some sign of life breathing in a actual device.
So when I see parties celebrating the release of two new colors for the Sprint Palm Centro I cock my head and make that Scooby Doo sound. Except there's no Scooby Snack to keep me calm.
The latest news from Palm land is pictures from a Pedicure party at which the Palm team got to celebrate the new colors of the Centro.
You can only live off the Centro for so long before it becomes psychologically antiquated before its time like the Treo. Adding colors and celebrating them just seems... seems...Wrong.
Again, I don't want to be a party pooper here, Palm deserves a round of applause for creating a little phone for little money that has thus far sold big. But in todays technical climate, change is rapid and those caught toasting yesterdays success, miss todays successor.
