The beginning of the holiday season will soon be upon us in about three weeks. You may want to set a fabulous table for your guests at Thanksgiving by setting the table with your fine china and your good silver. But when you open the drawer you find that the silver has tarnished a bit. What to do, what to do. Well, first you’ll need to polish the silverware. When you’ve completed that task this is what you do to keep them tarnish free for the next holiday.  To avoid this next time you use the silver, place silica beads (like the ones that come in your new shoes box, that you always throw away) in the container that you store your silverware in.  The precious metal tarnishes when moisture in the air causes it to oxidize. But silica gel beads act as a desiccant, a substance that removes moisture from the air. So start saving the beads for the silverware.

Ciao!
