Callwave the visual voicemail company that has been providing the service for a few years now, is announcing that they are putting an end to their vtxt service.  This means users that were having their messages transcribed and sent to them to read instead of listen to, will no longer be able to.   The company says that users will still be able to “enhanced voicemail, the ability to screen you mobile calls, save mobile minutes, manage your messages online and import/export your personal contacts.”

The service was free and was started to compete with other companies like PhoneTag (aka, Simulscribe) that offer voicemail transcriptions delivered to your phone.  So if you’re wondering why you’re not receiving your transcribed messages, now you know.
