Everyone’s favorite Hanna took the box office winnings back to Studio City,… Not Montana.  To the chagrin of many a parent, the darling of Disney dazzled delighted adolescents across the country.  The movie of the same name took in a $34M purse over the Easter weekend helping the Box office total to reach it’s highest Easter haul ever.  But keep in mind, ticket prices are higher than they have ever been, so that’s a misleading statement.  Fast & Furious stayed right on on the Hanna bumper with a second week haul of $28M, and an announcement of yet another in the series.
Monster vs Aliens added another $22M to it’s bank account while the opening new Seth Rogen flick failed to Flock em in.  The loose comedy Observe and Report took in $11M in its debut weekend.  Knowing, starring Nicholas Cage, rounded out the top 5 with a 3rd week take of $6M.
All in all, Easter weekend vacationers went to the movies on mass, (pun intended) but were they happy with what they saw?
