Google Tells Makers Of “Cyanogen modded Android ROM” No Mas

Well, this could get interesting. Thousands of interested Android addicts have been enjoying a little rooting of their G1′s and myTouch 3G’s. The Cyanogen modded Android ROM has proven to be a very popular “thing-to-do” in the Android community, much like Jailbreaking the iPhone. But to my knowledge, Apple has yet to unleash the hounds on the dev team, a dubious honor now held by Google. Sighting copyright infringement, the developers of the ROM have been given a Cease and Desist letter from Google. The developers are reaching out to Google, so we’ll see how this one turns out.

I’m “rooting” for the little guy on this one.
