Like me, I am sure that there are loads of you that have come across these post telling you that someone has made thousand weekly just by using a tried and tested Google link application. However, and sadly, there have been thousands that have been duped into giving money and or personal information to those making these claims. There have been complaints up the whazoo, but as Google points out, it’s often difficult to catch these lying individuals. But it looks like Google has finally come across a way to reach out and touch someone trying to scam you.
“Use Google to Make 1000s of Dollars!” or “Easy Cash with Google: You Could be Making up to $978 a Day Working from Home!” You may have seen offers like these using Google’s name or logo that sounded too good to be true. Unfortunately, nearly all of them are, and, despite hundreds of consumer complaints and our own efforts to keep these sites from tricking people, some scams continue. To fight back, we’re working to stop various fraudulent “Google Money” schemes, and this week filed suit against Pacific WebWorks and several other unnamed defendants.
Google hasn’t created or endorsed any of the sites like those described in our complaint. Misleading ads try to take advantage of consumers in the midst of a difficult economy, and as the economic situation has worsened, the problem has only grown. As far as we can tell, thousands of people have been tricked into sending payment information and being charged hidden fees by questionable operations.
Seriously people, the only way to make loads of money quick is to do something illegal. And that’s the fastest way to giving up your “FREEDOM or LIFE.” Don’t believe everything you read online, or idiots in Hawaiian shirts sitting around a pool at 3:am on the Tele. There is no program from Google that provides anyone with “thousands of dollars in just a few short days.”
I for one am very happy to hear that Google’s legal department got their tentacles around the collars of this scam. The first time I saw it, I new it was good enough to get a lot of people cleaned out.
