Just when you thought the last bastion of safety was cracking open a egg and cooking up one of those recipes you saw on one of the thousands of cooking shows, word comes down the FDA pie hole that the egg you just cracked could contain a dash of Salmonella poisoning. A few folks in California, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, and Minnesota, well over 200 in all, have been sickened from eggs farmed from a Iowa farm. 228 million eggs (I would love to know how they came up with that exact number) have been recalled. The offending eggs were sold at: ‘Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemp.’

If you have eggs from ‘Lucrene’ in your refrigerator egg container, you are advised to get rid of them. Normally ‘Recall’ would mean bring them back, but yeah, just go ahead and get rid of them.
