Zombies are in my opinion, the worst of the bunch when it comes to undead horrors of cinema. The Zombie affect is way to over used in film and video games. Even the premise of a Zombie bugs me. So imagine my surprise when I found myself hooked onto the AMC breakout hit ‘The Walking Dead’ after watching just one episode.

This is a well made show, acutely written, well acted and just plain fun to watch, even with grunting zombies aimlessly wandering around. If you’re a fan of Breaking Bad, Sunday nights premiere also gave you a chance to see a bit of action coming up in the second season of Walking Dead this October. If you didn’t see it, you are in luck, we’ve got it here!

This generations Aaron Spelling, Seth MacFarlane, has finally won a long quest to bring the Flintstones back to life. The ‘Family Guy’ creator single handedly brought funny back to television after The Simpsons seemed to lose a bit of its freshness, then went on to introduce ‘American Dad’ and ‘The Cleveland Show’ to the Fox line-up

Seth has been trying to win the rights to The iconic Flintstones for quite some time, and finally won a deal to start production in the fall of 2011, for a 2013 debut. According to sources the main hold up for a deal being made was the raunchy nature of Seth’s currently running shows. Since a deal has been struck, it can be assumed ‘The Flintstones’ will not follow in the footsteps of Peter Griffen.

The two ‘Flintstones’ movies and Baby Flintstones cartoons were bad enough to put a sour taste in the mouths of viewers and fans. The Flintstones was an adult comedy show of its time, not made to humor children. In fact, Fred Flintstones and his wife Wilma, did commercials for cigarettes. But given that it was a show of the 60′s, the humor was slapstick and clean, much like its live action contemporaries. Being a fan of both Seth Macfarlane and The Flintstones (I watch the reruns almost every night)I am hoping that he can and will do the show and the time period it hailed from, justice.

The original show ran from September 30, 1960 to April 1, 1966, has traveled the world and has been on television somewhere, since its original cancelation.

Stephen Colbert took on the “Turd Sandwich in Libya” in the classic Stephen Colbert way. And with that came the Colbert conservatism that all at once props up someone like on Newt Gingrich, while showing off just how much a buffoon on Newt Gingrich really is. It’s a delicate balance… And Hilarious!

If you have not yet checked out the animated Conan O’Brien, you owe it to yourself to do so. Warner Bros., has animated the late night host and made him into a Super Hero to help fight crime in the WB cartoon, Young Justice. Of course Conan couldn’t be a “regular” Superhero,” no, not Conan. Watch.

Much to my surprise, Mtv’s Jersey Shore is still on the air. I thought for sure Americans would reject the show simply on it’s basis. Instead, America has embraced it and actually made celebrities out of it’s stars. The fact that Snooki is a celebrity, someone who goes onto the David Letterman show and talks to Dave, is absolutely mind blowing.

When the show was being announced I was sure that Italian Americans would be outraged by it. Sure enough they were, but that didn’t stop the show from being a hit. However, now the show is on its way to Italy, and Italians in Italy are not at all pleased.

You may remember that sick feeling you got in the pit of your stomach after you saw the extremely shameful ‘Groupon’ commercial that aired during the Super Bowl. The ad used the sad and horrific plight of Tibet and its people to showcase the savings you’ll get by using Groupon to eat at a Tibetan restaurant in Chicago.

It probably made you so sick that you just glossed over and forgot about the second ad that Groupon aired later in the game. Well, Conan didn’t forget.

In case you didn’t know, Football is pretty dang popular now. In fact it’s so popular that the games biggest game, the Super Bowl, has been the most watched television show for the last two years running, this year being the winner of the two. Super Bowl 45 had an estimated 111 million viewers stacked in front of sets across America. That’s a lot of people, watching one televised event.

Super Bowl 44 which saw the Saints hoist the trophy, had an estimated 106.5 million, and in doing so, took out the long standing champion, CBS’s MASH finale. Now MASH is number three on the historic viewership list behind two sporting events from a game that always seemed to take a backseat to Baseball, America’s pass-time for some ungodly reason.

The entire 2010 season was very good to the NFL, giving it a 13% boost in ratings over last year. But, much like baseball, the NFL is ready to take the steam out, and alienate the fans by going on strike for the purposes of making more money over the ungodly amounts it already makes yearly.

Thanks commissioner! You’re doing a great job!

This years crop of Super Bowl commercials were no better or worse than last years. The one difference however could be the amount of overtly sexual and homo-erotic ads that hit the airwaves during a game in which many families gather in front of the set across America. Nothing wrong with it, as long as it plays on basic cable at a certain time at night. I’m not a prude, but I was a tad bit shocked at how sexual a lot of the commercials were, and let’s remember that Janet Jackson’s career was tanked because her boob popped out for a split second. Now a few years later you got guys licking fingers and smelling pants of other guys, and a guy thinking to himself “I wanna sleep with her” over a first date dinner. Again, that’s all fine and well, but not during the Super Bowl IMHO.

Then there are the Bud Lite commercials. Every year we have to sit through about 5 brand new completely unfunny Budweiser ads, then to my horror, America votes one of them as the best out of the crop. Hopefully this year breaks that streak because the Budweiser ads were just as stupid and unfunny as they always are. And let’s face it people, Budweiser is the worst beer there is, when are going to make them stop?

But there were a few standout commercials in my opinion. The E-Trade Baby ‘Enzo’ commercial is an instant classic. The Chevy ad with the old folks not being able to properly hear the Chevy commercial playing on their TV, hilarious! The Audi, ‘Release the hounds ads, it was great, and then the put Kenny G in, instant classic. There were a few others that were chuckle noteworthy like the Carbuilder ad with the monkeys boxing in a guy in the parking, but none of them came anywhere close to being as good, genius and instantaneously classic as the Volkswagen ad, ‘the force’.

I don’t know about you, but I say Ricky breathed some new life into the Golden Globes this year. The Hollywood Foreign Press never had it so good as far as media attention goes. There is no such thing as bad press right? Letterman sums it all up nicely. Good on you Dave!

You have to love when an actor goes that extra mile to pull off a stint Tom Hanks dropped by the new Conan show for a little one on one conversation time with happy TBS homemaker. After a bit of lively conversation Tom Hanks gets drenched.

Hilarious! Vikings and or Brett Favre fan or not, when you sat down to watch Saturday Night Live this past Saturday night, you had to find this sketch hilarious. SNL produced their own version of Brett Favre’s Wrangler Jeans commercial. This time, Brett’s wearing a pair of the new comfort fit Wrangler Open Fly Jeans, for easy access. If you missed it, you have to watch it.

Good news Napoleon fans, and consider your world officially rocked! The 2004 film, Napoleon Dynamite is coming to Fox TV as a animated series. Voiced by Jon Heder, the series will bring all of your old favorites to new adventures in Fox’s new season line-up. Fox has only ordered 6 episodes, so if you can’t get enough ‘Pedro, Deb and Kip’, you better watch and tell all your friends and family to watch as well. 6 episodes most likely means that Fox isn’t 100% behind the show. And remember, this is the same network that canceled “Family Guy” and “Futurama”.

You can never ever go wrong with a comedy bit that has Betty White uttering the phrase, “back that mutha up” and Jimmy Fallon doing a dead on Bruce Springsteen. Enjoy!

I think this should be a regular show with it’s own time slot, because I would watch it every week. Just not on Comedy Central, their every 5 minutes of 15 minute commercial breaks take the joy out of damn near everything on that channel.

Jon is still and away and his evil twin is still hosting the show while he’s gone. Thankfully the evil twin is just as funny as Jon, and thankfully he takes a look at the top secret leakage onto Wikileaks of top secret military information. And yes, it actually does involve Lady Gaga.

Jon Stewart finally returns from the 10th vacation this year! But this time he returned with something new on his face, a white beard. Jon shows off how this new addition happened, then goes on to talk Shirley Sherrod, which is great because at long last we get to have some fun with a really pathetic story.

We know him only as Oscar. He is 31-years old and he is the world’s first full face transplant patient, meaning his entire face is not the one he was born with. Oscar went on Spanish television to thank his doctors for the work that began with the surgery in March 2010 at Vall d’Hebron hospital in Spain.

Oscar was a farmer before accidentally discharging a shotgun which blew his face off. The 31-year old also thanked the family that allowed for the donor face. Oscar’s body has rejected the new skin tissue twice, but on the news that he was in need of a shave, they felt things were moving along well enough that he could go home.

Yikes, Tiger isn’t really Tiger at the moment. Not only as he lost his wife, but his also losing his girlfriends and a lot of tournaments as of late. Now the man who owned the world is losing his cool. At this weekends British Open, Tiger was shankapotomus, some so bad that he couldn’t hold in his disdain for his own swing, prompting him to let a loud vibrating F*@k right there on the green.

Tracy Morgan sat down with Jay Leno for a little bit of funny conversation, and this time, at least for me, it was actually funny. Tracy tells a story about a Presidential party he attended where he though a few of the ‘names’ in attendance may have been his father.

Mel Gibson got a Defensive End tackle from an unexpected place. Whoopi Goldberg says that from her time with Mel, even in her home, she has never seen him show racist tendencies. She makes pains to say that she is not defended his actions or his words, but blames it on alcohol and the stupid things people say and do when drunk. That part I can agree with, but it’s hard to swallow the idea that this guy isn’t a closet racist.

I’m glad this story is finally beginning to gain media attention, it was staying under the radar for a little too long. Not that the world needs more celebrity news, but Mel Gibson beat his pregnant women and made derogatory comments about Black people, facts that should have garnered just as much attention as his ‘Jewish” rant did.

Yikes, this had to hurt, and from the looks of the fans and both teams, it hurt everyone who attended the Texas Rangers game Tuesday night. A man fell 30 feet trying to catch a foul ball that came to his end of the stands. Reports are that the man suffered injures but was able to move all his parts. Unfortunately four others were hurt due to his falling on them.

If you live in Russia right now this is the ad spot you’ll see on your television reminding you that Avianova Airlines is the airline you have to fly. Of course it will be most effective if your a straight male or lesbian. The commercial is causing a bit of controversy and it’s easy to see why. Flight attendants call this sort of advertising for airlines, dangerous. I call it soft porn.

By now you’ve heard of the 2-year old baby in Indonesia who smokes up to 2 packs of cigarettes a day. If not, a CBS team went to the country to find Aldi Suganda Rizal and discover if he is still smoking, and he is. Although down to one pack, Aldi is still a heavy smoker at 2-years of age.

It’s very disturbing to watch, so be warned.

These are usually painful, even when done by a pretty funny comedian. This rap is no less painful, but Hodgman’s description of the World Cup and how it relates to Americans is absolutely hysterical! Watch the clip.

If you’ve got good seats at a sporting event, or any event for that matter, put your freakin cellphone away. This is a lesson well learned by this fan at a Yankee game. Watch as a fly ball pops him square in the face. He never saw it coming because he was talking on his phone, probably asking a buddy if the buddy could see him on TV.

Jon first goes after Fox and Friends for working overtime trying to get the Ice Cream shop employee who had the exchange with the Vice President, to be angry and bad mouth the often quick tongued Biden. It didn’t work, mostly because the latest so-called VP gaffe was actually funny.

But that doesn’t stop Jon from showing the VP how it should be done, which is where it gets hysterical!

Stephen sits down with Michael Hastings, the writer of the Rolling Stone article that ultimately sent General Stanley McChrystal packing. Of course Stephen is not happy with the article. Well it went a little better time with her appearance on Letterman, but the conversation did became a bit strange. Apparently someone is out there mashing up wolves with dog and creating hybrids. As to be expected, you will have to go to Florida to get one, but Kristen Stewart stresses that it’s not a good ideal.

Wow, I have to admit, the only time I hear the dribble that comes out of Glenn Beck’s mouth, is when someone else is showcases his lunacy for comedic affect. John Oliver shows Jon Stewart why America is now officially a third world country. It involves the dollar, rampant unemployment, inflation and now a World Cup advance win with millions of fans huddled around TV sets cheering the US team on.

Stephen has always been a big fan of General McChrystal’s methods, calling himself and others that feel as he does, “McChrystal meth heads.” Since the article that potentially doomed the career of the General appears in the Rolling Stone, Stephen says McChrystal is a rock star. Stephen then goes through a list of McChrystal hits.

US against Slovenia produced a tie, a tie that should have never happened. The US was given a free kick and scored, then the ref took the point away for some ghost reason, forcing the game to close with the US and Slovenia tied 2-2. This time around, it wasn’t only the Americans calling foul on the foul call, most of the rest of the world agreed that the call was bad, very bad. And Stephen Colbert agrees and sees an opening to exploit.

The very idea that someone could get upset that the President got a multi-billion dollar company to set aside $20 Billion for the residents of the Gulf Coast, is mind boggling. But that’s what happened, Republicans came out and bashed the White House over BP, and Jon Stewart has a lot to say about it.

It’s rare, almost non-existent that a band that was great/trend setting 20-30 years ago, can embark on a tour with a ‘new’ album and new songs that are worth listening to almost as much as the tunes that made them famous. In my opinion Devo has done the damn near impossible. “Fresh” a new tune from their new album, is just as good and fresh as “Girl U Want” and the other fun memorable Devo tunes of the 80′s.

Unfortunately, they look like a bunch of old guys, which most unfortunately, will most likely keep this tune from shinning the way it should, the way it would have if released in the 80′s. I hope I’m wrong, I’m really sick of “looks” being the forefront “MUSIC.”

Nicely done, funny, topical and on point in going after the president for points some of us don’t agree with. But then Stewart turns the spotlight over to the 5th grade intelligence of FauxNews and their view of what the president had to say to the country.

Hanna Rosin wrote an article (cover story) for ‘The Atlantic’ titled “The End Of Men” in which says that women are taking over. Can you imagine if a “minority” group wrote an article about how they are taking over? Anywho, Stephen obviously take umbrage with this assessment which also includes a 25 year long study of lesbians with children. The study concluded that children raised by Lesbian parents are better equipped (my words) than any other form of human baby breeding.

Stephen decides that its time to stand up for man-kind and protest this growing hostility toward the male virility, by burning his underwear.

Stephen takes it to Britain for being upset with Obama for chiding BP over the way they have handled the Oil Spill they caused in the Gulf. It’s time to get serious, FauxNews kind of serious. It’s time to start renaming stuff.

John goes south and takes a look at the guy no one knew existed, but won the South Carolina democrat primary. You may have caught Alvin Greene’s interview with Kieth Olbermann, one of the most uncomfortable 6 minutes you’ll ever spend in front of the television. Now reporters are smelling it and are all trying to get their time in with Mr. Greene.

But John takes care of it for you, wrapping it all up in a nice neat hilarious package.

Gen. David Petraeus fainted for unknown reasons this morning at the Senate Armed Services Committee hearings. The General passed out, but woke and stood on his own before being helped out of the room. The General was listening to John McCain drone on and on about the same things McCain drones on and on about. No word on if that was the reason Petraeus lost a few moments of consciousness.

Maybe you’ve already seen this, maybe it’s already old news? Tonight I just had my mind blown by a commercial that I thought was a “Adult Swim” joke, before I realized I wasn’t watching Adult Swim. There’s a product out there for women, but probably mostly sold to men, that gives the impression there’s much more junk in that trunk.

So basically gone are the days when having a big butt is a bad thing, and in are the days where it’s so desirable that a incredibly ridiculous commercial can be made and ran to advertise pads on the backside to make your “Booty Pop.”

I think this is one of the seven signs.

This is hilarious, completely hilarious! You may have seen the vid that is making it around the interwebs of our President supossively in the 90′s “whoomp, there it is” music vid. This opens up a world of trouble for the President, Stephen Colbert shows us what this discovery is going to do, and the questions that will be asked.

She was too hot for her supervisors at her bank and this, as she claims, got her fired. She also claims that the original story is not what she claimed, but we’ll leave that aside because it’s not as fun. Now the the bank hottie is burning up the halls at JP Morgan Chase, and they don’t like it. Not the fact that the halls are on fire as she walks through them, they’re mad at the fact that she’s talking about the halls she used to walk through. A little bank jealousy.

When Stephen Colbert hosted the Grammy’s this year, he walked out, reached into is inside suit pocket and pulled out a brand new iPad, and this was before it was on sale. Since then the iPad has gone on to sell in the millions and make accessory developers a nice bit of change too. The Wall Street Journal decided to highlight one of those accessories, the “iPad Suit Pocket,” you know, the one Stephen wore when he showed off his iPad. The problem is, nowhere in the WSJ article do they once mention Stephen as the inventor, or even inspiration for the “iPad Suit Pocket.” So Stephen has a message for Rupert mag…. It’s a visual one….
