Imagine a day when recharging your phone could be as easy as cracking open a soda. Chinese Inventor Daizi Zheng has redesigned a Nokia phone that uses bio-batteries as an alternative to conventional batteries. A bio-battery is an ecologically friendly, energy supply system which uses enzymes as a catalyst to generate electricity from carbohydrates (currently sugar). In order to use the bio-battery as a power source for the phone all that is required is a small supply of a sugary drink. Once the battery dies only oxygen and water remains. Bio-batteries are fully biodegradable and have, on a single charge, a potential life-span three to four times longer than conventional lithium batteries. Meanwhile, bio-batteries are a whole new way of looking at batteries and picnics.

If you made the conscience decision to wait around for the second coming of the EVO, the waiting time is up. This morning Sprint made it official, the EVO Shift 4G is here to deliver more 4G Sprint speeds at a slightly lesser price. Willing participants can check into the Shift 4G and it’s 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7630 processor for a cool $149. And yes, if you’re counting, the Shift is smaller and less powerful than it’s older brother the HTC EVO 4G. But come January 9th, the Shift will give users Android 2.3 right out of the box. Oh wait, nope, it’s still Froyo. So, ….

….I’m sure someone wants this one over the EVO.

You’ve heard the rumors that there would be a follow up to Google’s Nexus One, but you weren’t sure if they were true or not. It’s only human to be skeptical since Google decided to discontinue their online Nexus One store. Then there’s all of the newer fancier, bigger Android devices that have come and taken the spotlight since Google introduced there very own branded handheld. Well folks, the rumors were true and it looks like we’re getting our very first look at the phone that would be called the Nexus S.

Earlier this morning, Best Buy Mobile let escape an ad that spoke of the exclusive sale of the Nexus S. That ad was quickly pulled, but not fast enough to let the excitement explode. Then, out of nowhere, a fuzzy little shot of the supposed device showed up, making hearts beat faster and browsers go into full swing. Was it, or wasn’t it? It was:

Engadget got their hands on a model of the Samsung made device soon to be sold as the Nexus S, running a stock version of the brand new Android OS Gingerbread, commonly known as Android 2.3.

For all those waiting with bated breath for more competition in the mobile OS world, Microsoft has finally come to the table with their offering. You’ve been hearing about it for a few years now. It started with ‘no, we’re not making a Zune-Phone’ to here, have a “Kin.” Then it went quickly to, we’re taking the Kin back, sorry about that. And it has now turned full circle to ‘here, have a Zune-Phone.’

Microsoft is in desparate need of a winner, or even just a “doing pretty good” competitor in the mobile market. the iPhone, Android and Blackberry have all but made the one-time King completely fade from mobile memory. But like all Kings, they crave those days of yore, spend their loyal subjects money, gather a new army, sharpen new swords, and plot on new seemingly weaker lands to conquer.

But are there really any weaker lands for Microsoft to conquer? Can a flashy new OS that is basically a combination of the Android OS and iOS on top of a ZuneHD OS — labeled with a much improved desktop OS logo, really persuade subjects entrenched in the ways of their new modern day “Home Screens”, to lay down their arms and serve a aging desperate kingdom once again?

Obviously the jury is still hearing the case, but come October 31st, they will get the evidence and deliberation will begin.

The first of the brand new handsets will begin rolling out this October 21st in Europe and Asia. U.S. carriers will get their shot the following month, November. There are ten handsets in total, delivered to you by HTC, LG, Dell and Samsung. The hardware will look and feel familiar to you since they are at their core, Android devices tweaked for Microsoft needs.

PRESS RELEASE:

Oct. 11, 2010

Microsoft and Partners Unveil Windows Phone 7 Global Portfolio
First phones available soon from leading mobile operators around the world.

REDMOND, Wash. – Oct. 11, 2010 – Microsoft Corp. today joined its partners in revealing nine new Windows Phone 7 handsets that will be available this holiday season from leading mobile operators in Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific. With more than 60 mobile operators in over 30 countries worldwide committed to bringing Windows Phones to market, the millions of people around the world looking for a phone that plays as hard as it works will have a variety of phones from leading device-makers to choose from.

“We have a beautiful lineup in this first wave of Windows Phone 7 handsets,” said Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer at Microsoft. “Microsoft and its partners are delivering a different kind of mobile phone and experience – one that makes everyday tasks faster by getting more done in fewer steps and providing timely information in a ‘glance and go’ format.”
Global Portfolio

Microsoft and its partners have worked together closely to create a different kind of phone with new experiences that bring together what people care about most. Windows Phone 7 will be available in a variety of sleek form factors from device-makers such as Dell, HTC Corp., LG and Samsung, and from mobile operators including América Móvil, AT&T, Deutsche Telekom AG, Movistar, O2, Orange, SFR, SingTel, Telstra, TELUS, T-Mobile USA and Vodafone. All Windows Phone 7 phones will include the high-performance Snapdragon™ processor from Qualcomm. A broad selection of phones will begin shipping in holiday 2010 with more arriving in 2011, including phones from Sprint and Verizon. In addition, select models will be available at Microsoft Store locations and from Amazon.

Windows Phone 7, Glance and Go
In today’s busy world we are spending more time heads-down on our phones than interacting with the people we’re sitting next to and missing out on important life moments. Windows Phone 7 was designed to deliver a mobile experience that has the phone working better for people, bringing together the things they care about most and helping them to get things done faster.
Windows Phone 7 breaks the current smartphone convention to help people quickly and easily find and consume data, information and services from the Web and applications. The new phones are distinguished by unique design and integrated experiences built from Microsoft’s deep portfolio such as Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Office Mobile, Zune, Windows Live, Bing and more.

For example, the customizable Start screen with Live Tiles is a personal experience, showing people their own content. The Live Tiles come to life with real-time updates from the Web such as news, appointments or the status of friends. New Live Tiles can be easily created from whatever content a consumer wants, such as applications, websites and music.
Fueling New Experiences

Windows Phone 7 marks a new era in mobile gaming as the first phone1 to put the power of Xbox LIVE into the palm of people’s hands with a blockbuster lineup of game titles from award-winning publishers. In addition to the titles already announced earlier this year, Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) today announced the first wave of EA games coming to Windows Phone 7 this fall. As part of Microsoft’s managed portfolio of Xbox LIVE titles, all EA games for Windows Phone 7 will be Xbox LIVE-enabled. EA will deliver a portfolio of titles that offers something for every mobile gamer, from casual to core, including “Need for Speed™ Undercover,” “Tetris®” and “The Sims™ 3.”

Windows Phone 7 is also the first to offer the Zune music experience on a phone: People can play their music collection, synced wirelessly from their PC, or stream or download new tunes from Windows Marketplace. An optional Zune Pass subscription is available.

Search is made easier with a dedicated button to help people find what they need, whether in contacts, in Marketplace, in e-mail or on the Web. From the Start screen, the Search button delivers Bing for mobile, delivering Web results, local information, maps, directions and more.

The Windows Live solution helps people manage pictures, Windows Live calendar, Office OneNote Mobile and more. The free Find My Phone service new on Windows Live can remotely ring, lock, erase and show the location of your phone on a map. Complete information about Windows Phone 7 features and capabilities can be found at http://www.windowsphone.com.

Just when you were thinking it was comfortable to believe that there are only two device OS’s to choose from, Nokia comes in and reminds you, Symbian is still alive and kickin’. Their answer to the thousands of Android handsets and iPhone OS is the brand new E7 full QWERTY Slider, and it’s not a bad little answer. Not only does it boast a 4-inch tilt touchscreen for front side handheld fun, but it also includes a 8 megapixel backside imager for a little 720p video enjoyment. Oh and don’t worry, all this recent heavy competition coming Nokia’s way hasn’t made them rethink their pricing policy.
“T-Mobile ignited the spark that set the Android world ablaze two years ago with the launch of the world’s first Android-powered mobile phone, the T-Mobile G1, which remains an important milestone for both T-Mobile and the Android operating system,” said Cole Brodman, chief technology and innovation officer, T-Mobile USA. “Now, with the launch of the T-Mobile G2, we are re-teaming with our partners at Google and HTC to provide T-Mobile customers with another first – the first Android smartphone designed to deliver 4G speeds on our new network.”

“One of the advantages of an open platform is the opportunity for developers to create rich mobile experiences and seamlessly get those experiences into the hands of consumers,” said Andy Rubin, vice president, engineering, Google. “From new services, such as Voice Actions, to mobile applications, developer-led Android innovation is flourishing. On Android Market alone, the number of applications available to consumers has grown from just 50 applications two years ago to more than 80,000 applications today.”

“Two years ago, HTC and T-Mobile worked together to deliver the world’s first Android phone, the T-Mobile G1. From that start, Android has grown to be the leading smartphone platform in the U.S., and one of the most popular globally,” said Peter Chou, chief executive officer, HTC Corporation. “With today’s announcement of the G2, HTC and T-Mobile are once again bringing a breakthrough Android product to market.”

The first smartphone specifically designed to deliver 4G speeds on T-Mobile’s new HSPA+ network, the G2 is optimized for performance to provide customers with blazing fast access to a world of information through websites, applications, videos, file downloads and more. Built on Android 2.2, the G2 offers seven customizable home screen panels, including a dedicated panel with one-click access to your favorite Google applications such as Android Market™, which currently offers more than 80,000 applications.

The T-Mobile G2 delivers a powerful mobile data experience that is tightly integrated with Google Voice™, as well as packed with Google applications such as Voice Actions™ from Google, Google Goggles™ and more. It is one of the first smartphones in the industry to offer the new Voice Actions feature of Google Search™, which allows you to control your phone with your voice for calling contacts and businesses, sending messages, browsing the Web, listening to music and completing common tasks. It is also the first smartphone to offer integrated access to Google Voice™, allowing customers to create a new account using their current mobile number right from the home screen. Google Voice then automatically transcribes voicemails to text so customers can read them like an e-mail or text message from their phone or online. Additional pre-loaded Google services include Google Search, Gmail™, Google Maps™ with Places and Navigation, YouTube™, Google Talk™ and Google Earth™, among others.

Adding fuel to the G2′s speed is its Snapdragon™ MSM7230 mobile processor which combines Qualcomm’s new HSPA+ capabilities and second generation applications processor. The Snapdragon MSM7230 offers an 800 MHz CPU and is optimized to deliver exceptional performance, long battery life and leading edge multimedia and web browsing – with download speeds faster than other solutions currently in the market.

The G2 delivers advanced smartphone features including an HD video camera for recording crystal-clear, high-definition (720p) videos that can be automatically uploaded to your Photobucket account and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus. The G2 also offers smartphone essentials such as easy access to personal and work e-mail, including support for Microsoft® Exchange e-mail, contacts and calendar; social networking; and instant messaging. In addition, the G2 features a pre-installed 8GB microSD memory card with support for up to 32 GB, as well as a music player.

Additional features of the G2 include the following:
· Dedicated Quick Keys for one-touch access to your favorite Google shortcuts and applications

Adobe FlashPlayer enabled Web browsing experience
Pinch and zoom functionality for Web browsing and photo gallery
· 4GB internal memory with pre-installed 8GB micro SD card, with support for up to 32 GB of external memory

· Built-in 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo headset and Bluetooth support

· Swype® text input for fast, accurate communication

Availability

If you follow the world of all things Android devices, this shot will look a bit familiar to you. Yes, it does look a little bit like the famed HTC Vision, okay a lot like it. But this is actually the second coming of the G2 to be released in the states under the T-Mobile logo like it’s older brother, the one who kicked it all off, the G1. What you’re looking at is a slightly larger screen, 3.7 inch, nicer sliding keyboard mostly likely Android 2.2, anything less would be a travesty.

T-Mobile has already teased that we will be seeing this one on the scene soon, soon as in September, and will be rocking that HSPA 4G of T-Mobile’s that we’ve been hearing so much about.

Out of the darkness comes some light, albeit not all that shiny. The word of a brand new version of the Blackberry Storm, the Blackberry Storm 3, came this morning from a lucky tipster to Engadget. It brought some smiles and something to look forward to come December possibly. But as more begins to follow, those smiles are quickly turning to, meh. From the sparse info beginning to trickle, the next Storm is more like a few clouds dropping a few showers in scattered locations. No big changes in the next generation Storm, in fact it looks like the new device will be nothing more than an upgrade to take on Blackberry OS 6.

I’m sure that won’t stop Verizon from pumping it like the second coming but, 5 megapixel camera, WiFi upped to 802.11n and 512 MB of RAM sounds good, it’s just not all that exciting when you factor in what else is out there on the market. However, having said that, I’m sure Storm loyal fans with greet this news with a cheer, even if it is somewhat tempered.

But now we’re getting word that the device will show up around August 23rd or somewhere about’. Now, that’s interesting and all, but there’s some news that has the potential to get some out into the streets dancing for joy. The 3rd installment of the Touchscreen Blackberry, the Blackberry Storm, may be hitting Big Red sometime around Xmas. Yes, it just got really interesting didn’t it!?

It’s hard to believe that there will be three versions of this device, the one and only large screen Touchscreen Blackberry, and it’s STILL only available on Verizon.

It looks as though AT&T is finally getting serious about selling Android devices to its customers. How serious you ask? How about 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 4 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, 5 MP camera with HD video recording serious. Take that T-Mobile. T-Mobile is where one would expect to see a Samsung Android device of this caliber take its first flight, in particular since it seems to be of the Samsung Galaxy flavor, but AT&T has the hanger and hub space all laid out for Android fans on the GSM network, fans that want Android 2.1, fast and powerful processing and bigger screens.

The word comes to us as in the “coming months” so that could be December since December is coming. But if you’re in the market, head on over to AT&T, get the full look and sign up to be notified when “coming” means “here.”

Immerse yourself in the realism of the 4” Super AMOLED display. Elevate your gaming experience with the six-axis motion sensor and powerful 3D graphics engine.
Pocket-Sized HTC Aria to Premiere on Nation’s Fastest 3G Network

Android 2.1 & HTC Sense™ Experience Combined With 7.2 HSPA Speeds Offers Exceptional Mobile Broadband Performance.

Basically we are looking at a AT&T HTC Hero/Eris.

Dallas, Texas, Bellevue, Washington, June 14, 2010

AT&T* and HTC Corporation (“HTC”) today announced that HTC Aria™, a rich and powerful addition to AT&T’s Android smartphone portfolio, will be available exclusively at AT&T beginning June 20. Pocket-sized and packing the power of the Android 2.1 platform, a five megapixel camera and a bright 3.2 inch HVGA display, HTC Aria offers AT&T customers Android smartphone functionality in an amazingly easy-to-carry design. The combination of 3G speed, a responsive capacitive touch screen and an optical joystick makes HTC Aria an ideal smartphone for mobile broadband.

HTC Aria is Wi-Fi capable and qualifying customers will receive access to AT&T Wi-Fi, with more than 20,000 hotspots across the U.S. In addition, HTC Aria is compatible with AT&T’s High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) 7.2 Mbps technology. This technology provides a considerable boost to 3G speeds when combined with expanded backhaul. The combination of faster wireless networks, smartphones like HTC Aria, and tens of thousands of available innovative mobile apps allows AT&T customers to mobilize virtually everything, from video and music, to social networking, to business applications.

“HTC Aria is the first of several smartphones in our Android portfolio to run the 2.1 platform,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “When you combine the nation’s fastest 3G network, and access to the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network, HTC Aria will be one of the best Android smartphones available.”

HTC Aria features the acclaimed HTC Sense experience, which automatically delivers the most-wanted information by bringing it to the forefront of the mobile experience. Featuring the latest version of HTC Sense, HTC Aria offers even more ways to stay connected, including Friend Stream, which delivers Facebook, Twitter and Flickr updates in a single, consolidated view.

“Its unique combination of compact size and beautiful design instantly separates HTC Aria from the pack of ‘me-too’ smartphones,” said Jason Mackenzie, vice president of HTC America. “But what really differentiates HTC Aria from other smartphones is the acclaimed HTC Sense experience, which we are pleased to be bringing to AT&T customers. By putting people at the center of everything it does, HTC Aria organizes all of your communications in the most human way possible – by person.”

A full selection of the newest and most popular Google services can be accessed with HTC Aria. This includes Google search, Google Maps, Google Navigation, Gmail, YouTube and more. With Android Market, customers can also choose from more than 50,000 applications to further personalize the mobile experience.

Along with being ultra-small at just over 4 inches long and weighing a mere 4.05 ounces, HTC Aria’s seamless wrap-around soft-touch back cover eliminates sharp edges, making HTC Aria exceptionally convenient to carry and comfortable to hold as well.

Featuring the best selection of smartphones and OS, AT&T is ranked #1 in customer satisfaction among smartphone owners. AT&T plans to expand its Android portfolio to include other Android smartphones during the second half of 2010.

Pricing and Availability
HTC Aria will be available on June 20 at AT&T retail locations nationwide or at http://www.att.com/wireless for $129.99 after $100 mail-in rebate (pay $229.99 and after mail-in rebate receive $100 AT&T Promotion Card. Two-year agreement required and smartphone data plan required).

SWEET!!! After all this time, all the hand ringing, the waiting and guessing games, the truth finally comes to light and we now have all the details on the HTC EVO 4G. The EVO will cost those wanting to purchase it (me) $199 on a brand new 2-year, and can be purchased this coming June 4th. Yeah, that’s next month!

But, I hope you didn’t think all was going to be bagels and orange juice with the EVO. The new high powered HTC will need a a special data contract and you’ll need to pony up an extra $10 a month to use it.

However, whenever you’re on that 4G tower you’ll be able to talk and surf the web at the same time. The front side camera will allow for video chat too, but at the moment it’s unsure what software will be running that feature.

But now we know, we have a month to save up and get prepared to pay that extra $10 a month.

Take a look at the Sprint website for all the details, then rejoice with your friends and family tonight! On second thought, save your money, you’ll need it.

The device will feature a 8MP Camera with dual LED flash and HD video recording, 4.3″ touchscreen with 854 x 480 pixels, 512MB RAM, MOTOBLUR and Android 2.1. But the device could come equipped with Android 2.2.

We will have to see how this one develops so stay tuned.

Nothing really new to see here, which for me is a bit disappointing. We’ve seen images of the brand new Blackberry Pearl 3G floating around for over a month now. And as for the Blackberry Bold 9650, if you’ve seen a Tour, then you’ve seen this one:

Bold 9650:
802.11b/g WiFi, a
3.2 megapixel cam
GPS
EV-DO Rev A networks or UMTS/HSPDA

Pearl 3G
802.11b and g,
3.2 megapixel camera,
256MB – internal
microSD expansion up to 32GB
GPS
triband HSDPA with quadband GSM / EDGE
360 x 400 display

Both new Blackberries have a 3.2 megapixel camera! Wow. The new design of the Pearl 3G is actually very slick, albeit not an extreme make-over. The new Pearl will most likely show up on AT&T sometime in May, while the Bold/Tour is a Sprint device slated for May 23rd for $200 on the 2.

Anyone excited about these? … Anyone… Buelller?

Rumors have been swirling about a slider device discovered a few weeks back. I decided to stay away from the story because one, it looked more like a spec device RIM probably passed on at least a year ago-and two, it simply doesn’t look interesting.

But, it looks as though the rumors could be correct as now there is word from a RIM parts supplier Woojeon & Handan that the Canadian company will be introducing a new device next month, and the Woojeon & Handan CEO named it the “T”. In this particular Blackberry rumor campaign, “T” stands for Talladega.

“The Canadian company RIM famous for BlackBerry smartphones is releasing a new model next month. Known as the “T,” The new model is an ambitious product aimed at competing against iPhone’s storm of success. Rim will present it (“T”) as its flagship model to compete in global markets such as the U.S. and Europe.”

I’m not sure a “slider’ is going to do much harm at all to the iPhone’s bottom line, or to Android’s ascension. But, stranger things have happened. We’ll just have to wait and see what next month brings.

According to the The Wall Street Journal, the granddaddy of them all, the next big man on campus, the HTC Supersonic will be announced next week at CTIA by Sprint. Not only will it be announced, but it will be announced as Sprint’s first WiMax handheld.

Sprint Nextel Corp. is expected to unveil the first phone compatible with its fourth-generation mobile network at a wireless conference next week, according to people familiar with the matter.

The device, made by HTC Corp. and dubbed the Supersonic, represents Sprint’s latest and biggest bet that its WiMax network and promises of a speedier wireless connection will reverse the struggling carrier’s fortunes. The company is racing to make WiMax services, which are run by partner Clearwire Corp., available to more people as it hopes to exploit its temporary 4G lead over rivals.

“It’s now or never,” said Avi Greengart, an analyst at Current Analysis. “They won’t have an exclusive on the 4G marketing message indefinitely.”

It’s interesting to see that Sprint is relying on Android to deliver the much touted 4G, and to turn their fortunes around. Not sure that one device can do that, but I’m pretty sure that I will be doing my part.

Why is it when someone gets a hot scoop, they never seem to know how to use a camera? Is it the excitement? I guess we have to be happy they even bother to post it all, but dang. A new blurry clip has shown up showing off the coming HTC bad A$$, the HTC Supersonic. Sadly there really isn’t much here, but it is nice to see the device I’m looking forward to owning. The latest creation shows us that the device will come in White, and…that’s about all it shows us.

Today is turning out to be the day Pink was outed! The super secret Microsoft Project Pink Phones is seeing the light of day thanks to some tipsters and the internet. We have now seen a few images of the PP Pure device which is said to be headed for Verizon, but now, the earlier reported device, the Turtle Vertical Slider, has been confirmed as real and given a real entry date, or time…sorta.

A tipster passed us a load of 3rd-party marketing materials, in which a promotional plan for Pink is laid out in detail. (Campaign specifics and most graphics have to be witheld to protect the innocent, but rest assured, they’re legit.) The documents don’t talk about specs or software details, or more importantly why the hell Microsoft thinks this weird little pebble is a good idea, but there’s plenty we can learn:

• The early Pink renders leaked to us back in September? Those are exactly the same ones included in the proposal.

• Of the two phones in prior leaks, only one shows up here: The Turtle vertical slider. It’s a messaging phone, basically—one part Pre, and two parts Sidekick. (Or maybe three.)

• Verizon is a launch partner for the device, and probably an exclusive carrier. The branding and marketing in the documents suggests a joint Microsoft/Verizon launch, but another carrier isn’t completely out of the question.

• The phones aren’t running Windows Phone 7, unless it’s hidden behind a different interface. Virtually all rumors around the Pink platform implied as much, and again, this appears to be something fundamentally different.

• Social Networking! It’s all over the proposal, and presumably, the phone.

• It’s suggested that the platform has apps of some sort. For a phone like this to share apps with Windows Phone 7 is pretty much impossible—the minimum hardware requirement for a Windows Phone look out of reach for this little black lump—so this one’s a big question mark. Is it another SDK? Or closed app development like we’ve seen on the Zune HD? Web apps?

These things are never ever crisp, clean or sharp, I can tell you from experience, they cause one hell of a stir. And I for one, am all stirred up. The HTC Supersonic that we’ve heard a little about has been captured by the fuzzy cam, or so it seems. This time it’s fantastic news for Sprint customers, which includes yours truly. It looks like the Supersonic will be headed for Sprint with WiMax speed and the other goodies we already heard about.

Android 2.1 w/ HTC Sense UI
Kickstand
1ghz Snapdragon
Built-in FM Radio
Sprint WiMax

As you can see in the fuzzy shot, it does indeed have that large 4.3″ AMOLED screen which could very well work to put the iPhone on it’s heels. Sense UI, 1ghz Snapdragon and Android 2.1? I think I’m falling in love.

Check out a few more shots!

Oh snap! Motorola aint playin son! Last year the company was on the brink of closing up the mobile shop, this year they’re ready to flood the market, and they’ve got Google to thank. After the Motorola Droid success, the company unleashed a few more models slated for delivery, and they all look promising. But now the company is saying that they intend on delivering up to 20 or 30 new devices in 2010 alone, all running Android. That’s a great commitment to an OS that’s not even a healthy two years of age. The handsets will be distributed worldwide and not every market will see the same handset.

If the Motorola Droid and Motorola Motoroi are any indication of what’s to come, Motorola is in for a record setting year.

Times they are a changing. Seems like only yesterday that a new phone would get a fuzzy blurry leak image, then we would have to go on for weeks speculating on it’s validity. Once truth was secured, we would all have to wait for someone to nabbed a better image, or the manufacture or carrier to go ahead and spill the beans.

Nowadays all you have to do is go to YouTube. That Motorola Motoroi we talked about yesterday? Here it is, live, crystal clear and demoed for your enjoyment. This is a beautiful device, and come this March, some lucky subscribers on some US carrier will be able to tell the world just how nice it really is.

The Nexus One is all the rage at the moment. The new all purpose Android device running Android created by Google seems to have captured the imaginations of all of around the internet, even though it looks like a HTC Hero running Android 2.0.

But the HTC Hero doesn’t have an ‘app tray’ with 3D elements, Google Navigation, extended amount of homescreens and what looks to be WebOS style cards. Nope, that’s all running exclusively on the Nexus One.

Push-To-Talk Android is coming folks, although it remains to be seen as to how many business’s are going to take up Android as their main way to stay in touch with employees in the field. Time will tell. Personally I think Sprint would have been better off offering this up as a competitor to the Motorola Droid, even if it really can’t compete.

Yes it’s back. The whole Google branded phone rumor that has been going on since even before the G1 was introduced, even before we saw one screenshot of the Google Android OS. This is becoming one of those “Did the Druids build Stonehenge” kind of stories, except. It looks like this one, unlike Stonehenge, is about to get a “final answer.”

Techcrunch is saying that they have word that the Google Phone is real and will be released soon, very soon. There is no word on who is actually building the hardware, could be HTC, LG or Samsung. Techcrunch is leaning toward LG, I’m leaning toward HTC since they massed marketed an Android device first and IMHO get it right. But who knows, who knows if this is even real or not? Would be extremely interesting though in particular when you consider that Google could be selling this device on their own, without carrier branding. Would this signal the end of the iPhone? Would we get both flavors :GSM-CDMA?

There are far more questions than answers:

Way more interesting are the rumors we’ve been hearing for months about a pure Google-branded phone. Most of our sources have unconfirmed information, which we describe below. But there are a few things we have absolutely confirmed: Google is building their own branded phone that they’ll sell directly and through retailers. They were long planning to have the phone be available by the holidays, but it has now slipped to early 2010. The phone will be produced by a major phone manufacturer but will only have Google branding (Microsoft did the same thing with their first Zunes, which were built by Toshiba).

There won’t be any negotiation or compromise over the phone’s design of features – Google is dictating every last piece of it. No splintering of the Android OS that makes some applications unusable. Like the iPhone for Apple, this phone will be Google’s pure vision of what a phone should be. —Techcrunch

This is truly exciting if true and makes the next few months interesting. The phone wars could be in for nuclear sized event, especially if the device looks good!

There is still no word on when, where or how much this bad boy will be when it hits in that guess-timated month of February. But when it does, where ever it does, it’s going to hit with that 1GHz Snapdragon processor, which means that it should be the snappiest snap dragon around. But the last time this thing made a web appearance, …. well let’s just say it wasn’t so snappy. But if you take a look at this new vid that as made it’s way to the interwebs, you’ll see a much improved Xperia, one that Sony might be able to garner interest from when they finally do release more useful information.

Let’s not kid ourselves here, this is the HTC Hero and that’s all there is. Just because Verizon slapped their brand logo on it, doesn’t mean it’s a new device. What it does mean however is, just like the Palm Pre, Sprints exclusivity days continue to be short lived. Verizon customers will have a wide choice of Android devices soon enough, it as can be seen in this photo, the HTC Hero dubbed ‘Desire’ for Verizon, will be one of them.

I know I’ve said this before, but I think it should be pointed out. There is a second Blackberry Storm on the way and Sprint customers have yet to get to know the first one. Sprint hasn’t had the HTC Hero for two solid weeks yet and already Verizon is showing off theirs, even if it is a leak. Ouch, That’s gotta hurt.

Garmin Asus had already announced that they were a friend of Android.  The out of Taiwan was that we could expect to see their take on the Google OS at some point next year.  Well, it looks as though they have been watching the flood of Android devices in the last few weeks, and the interest those devices have garnered – because now the company is saying their device will be here this year.  There is no date yet, nor is there a where it’s going.  All we know is that it is coming and coming soon!

Not bad for a company that looks like it will get eaten alive by Verizon in the coming months. Sprint desparetly needs a few handsets to rival the bigger three carriers, and another high end Android device isn’t a bad way to go. No word on when or how much, but now that the Androids been let out of the bag, that info should be coming soon!

If for some reason Sprints unreasonable demand of $250 for the new Samsung Instinct HD didn’t make you drop the whole idea, maybe this will. Not that this hands on video shows off any overwhelming glaring ineptitude, not at all. What it does show however, is just how ridiculous that price point is. Consider this, you can grab a Palm Pre for $149 from Sprint, or $100 from Amazon. And by all accounts, the uber tight HTC Hero by all accounts will go for $179. Do you really need to watch youtube videos in HD? If you do, then this video is for you!

WiFi, EV-DO Rev A support, Opera Mobile 9.7, 480 x 320 display, 5 megapixel camera, haptic feedback, ambient light sensor, accelerometer all on a homemade OS that folks are having are hard time finding the HD, in HD. How much would you pay? Well, if you want one, you’re going to pay $250 after a $100 rebate and a two-year subscription. Me thinks that’s way, way to much for this device. Not sure why Sprint is pricing devices so far out of reach of folks working through a tough recession. The carrier has enough problems as is, why compound it by pricing phones way too high.

But, if you don’t mind spending that kind of money on a strictly carrier based OS simply because it says HD, you’ll get your chance on September 27th.

Sidekick hardware designer Sharp will be the company behind the device that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer lied about on more than one occasion. After stating emphatically that there will be no Microsoft phone, the uber secret “Pink” phone leaks online. The two devices are the “Turtle and the “Pure.” One looks like a stubby overweight Palm Pre while the other a stretched out Palm Pre. Both are said to run Zune services and will have their own MS App Store.

Leaks, leaks and more leaks seem to be the order when it comes to the Samsung Instinct HD. We know it plays HD video. We know it has a 5-megapixel camera. We know that it has a 3.2-inch display (head scratcher), and we know that the browsing experience is said to be night and day from the days of the OG Instinct. Now that we have this Sprint Premier Connection newsletter from the horses mouth, all those leaks are now confirmed. But, we still don’t know when or how much. “Coming Soon” could mean summer 2010, or it could mean next Friday. And since Sprint priced the HTC Touch Pro2 out of reach, the cost of this high def bad boy could be a scary reveal.

Yeah, the great thing about leaks is it keeps the conversation going, even though it’s really supposed to end the chatter.
